Extreme Loading® for Structures Software or ELS, is an advanced non-linear structural analysis software tool designed specifically for structural engineers. ELS allows structural engineers to study the 3D behavior of structures through both the continuum and discrete stages of loading. This includes static and dynamic loads such as those generated by blast, seismic events, impact, progressive collapse, and wind.
Unlike many structural analysis software tools which are based on the Finite Element Method (FEM), ELS utilizes a non-linear solver based on the Applied Element Method (AEM).
This allows ELS is to automatically analyze structural behavior during elastic and inelastic modes including the automatic yielding of reinforcement, detection and generation of plastic hinges, buckling & post-buckling, crack propagation, membrane action & P-Delta effect, and separation of elements. The resulting debris and impacts with structural elements are also automatically analyzed and stress redistribution is inherently calculated.

Based on the success of UC-Frame3D, the new Engineer's Studio continue to analyse the nonlinear behaviour of the entire structures , (or substructures) with beam elements or a layers of flat plate elements.
The advanced 3D fiber element, which was well-received by UC-win/FRAME3D users, as well as the flat plate element based on the Reissner-Mindlin theory also make Engineer's Studio stands out.
Static and dynamic analyses can be conducted simultaneously with consideration of material and geometric nonlinearity (large displacements).
A flat plate element can be made into a laminated structure with multiple layers in the direction of thickness, each layer with an individually definable material and linear or nonlinear settings. The globally recognised reinforced concrete nonlinear constitutive law (distributed crack model), developed at the University of Tokyo concrete research laboratory, is adopted as the concrete nonlinear constitutive law applied to the flat plate elements.
The flat plate element of this product expands the RC element from UC-win/WCOMD to be multilayered in the direction of thickness Therefore the not only of in-plane deformations but the nonlinear behaviour of out-of-plane deformations have also been enabled. This makes Engineer's Studio the definite choice for both researchers and engineers seeking reliable analysis results.

In the event that Class 1 steel cannot be obtained from manufacturers/suppliers in Singapore, the design strengths of steel and bolt have to be adjusted as per specified in the BCA's BC 1:2008 circular (clauses under section 5.2 and 5.3).

More than 100 delegates attended this half day technical seminar on prefabrication and precast technologies, jointly hosted by Building Technology Department of HDB, China Academy of Building Research and Advance ConTech (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. Three renowned experts talked on the advancements and how the prefabrication and precast technologies are used to cater for the public housing needs of Singapore, and the important role that PTC SE CAD software has played in streamlining the design and build processes of past and future Singapore multi-storey buildings.
